January 1st, starting a new year in the ocean surrounded by sharks, seemed like a privilege... it made me reflect on how we should change our fear of sharks and start fearing for them. Coexistence is key. This image then became part of my B&W series “Emerge” -- A series of portrait of different wildlife encounters I’ve had over the years and how they have shaped my viewings of life. While editing this photo, it became pretty clear to me on how the ocean would look like if we don’t learn as human beings to coexist with other species - ending up with a blueless and lifeless ocean.
